What We Believe

Worshipping

John 4:23

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks."

We commit ourselves to glorifying God by Worship, which is in the adoration of God; Worship is duly required of all His children through praise, prayer, the reading and preaching of His Word, and should inspire witness leading to discipleship. Every Christian may worship God privately; however, this should never replace the corporate worship of the church.

Caring

Galations 6:10

"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."

We commit ourselves to glorifying God by making Christ known to the world, by caring for those of the flock of God, and by demonstrating the love of God to all people.

Growing

2 Peter 3:18

"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen."

We commit ourselves to glorifying God by moving toward maturity through learning, fellowshipping, and doing the work of ministry.

Sharing

Matthew 10:7-10

"Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give."

We commit ourselves to glorifying God by sharing what we know, what we have, and what we are with all people.

Equipping

Ephesians 4:12

"to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."

We commit ourselves to glorifying God by equipping all believers for the work of ministry. The church, through its leadership, is to see that the people of God are educated, guided, and cared for that they might become spiritually mature as they do the work of ministry.

Our Story

Pastor Charlie Carroll had a vision to start a church where people from all walks of life can come together and worship. On Sunday, August 3, 2008, a group of people who love Jesus came together at the Wedding Place in Clayton, North Carolina to have church. Our first Sunday, we had 22 people in our service and God has blessed us beyond belief since! We met for months and did not have a name for the church. Pastor Charlie wanted to name the church 'Broken Wing Fellowship' after a song that a dear friend wrote. The name was presented and it was unanimous, our church would be known as Broken Wing Fellowship Church and our vision is "only Jesus can heal a broken wing."

Broken Wing Fellowship Church was accepted into the Cape Fear Conference of Original Free Will Baptist in 2010. God continues to bless our church. We have several ministries - Ladies Auxiliary (Sister Circle), Laymen's League (Dan's Hands), and a youth program. We worshipped in Garner for five years and in November 2013 because of the generosity of Auburn Christian Church we moved into our church home at 1837 East Garner Road. We are growing in the Lord and He is blessing us more than we could imagine.

We are a loving, caring church who loves to serve our Lord. Our philosophy is simple, we are tough on sin, but easy on the sinner. We don't claim to be contemporary or traditional, we just want to serve the Lord and Praise Him in all we do.
